With which systems will Facebook be able to ascertain whether a web story is fake news? And based on what criteria will the thin line that divides false news from semi-true news be established? Already at the end of the year the topic shook the world . Google itself got involved when Business Insider kindly pointed out that Google's algorithms were actually supporting the spread of fake news. What seems like a game is actually a very serious problem. How can you defend yourself (obviously assuming you want to)?
Let's consider a very recent case that can shed Japan WhatsApp Number Data light on a new approach. Google, as reported by Corriere , has blacklisted over 200 sites which, according to its checks, did not report real news. Among the many also the infamous Byoblu, who in real news, well let's say that he is not very knowledgeable. Google's provision will prevent reported sites, considered misleading, from using the AdSense system for advertising.
Why is this news important in order to fight fake news (let's say strike at the root of the sites that create it systematically)? The basis of a site is traffic: more traffic, more money for advertising . Fake news is usually surprising, it generates amazement and curiosity in readers, and through this mechanism it tends to attract a large audience (somewhat curious, a bit morbid). If a site is deprived of its economic income, nothing prevents it from continuing to produce fake news but, in a practical sense, it can only do so as a hobby.
